Born on June 2, 1972, to father Wentworth E. Miller II and mother Roxann in Chipping Norton situated in Oxfordshire, Wentworth Earl Miller II spent most of his childhood days growing up in Park Slope situated in Brooklyn, New York. He belongs to black as well as white ethnicity. He has two younger sisters named Gillian and Leigh. He did his schooling from the Midwood High School in Brooklyn. He then went on to attend the Quaker Valley Senior High School situated in Sewickley, Pennsylvania. He attended the Princeton University and graduated with a degree in English Literature in the year 1995 from there. He was a part of many extracurricular activities during his college days and was part of The Princeton Tigertones and was also a cartoonist for the school paper.

He shifted to California after graduation and went on to work for a company who made television movies. After some time in California, he went on to pursue his acting career. He made his acting debut in the year 1998 with the television show Buffy the Vampire Slayer where he portrayed the role of Gage Petronzi. He is popular for portraying the lead role of Michael Scofield in the television series Prison Break in the year 2005 and Leonard Snart in the show Legends of Tomorrow in the year 2016. He is also known for his recurring role in the series The Flash in the year 2014 where he portrays the role of Leonard Snart. He has appeared in many television shows which include Time of Your Life as Nelson in 1999, ER as Mike Palmieri in 2000, Dinotopia as David Scott in 2002, Joan of Arcadia as Ryan Hunter in 2005, Ghost Whisperer as Sgt. Paul Adams in 2005, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit as Detective Nate Kendall in 2009, House as Benjamin Byrd in 2011 and Young Justice as Slade Wilson in 2013.

He made his movie debut in the year 2000 when he was cast for the role of Paris in the movie Romeo and Juliet. He has done many movies in his career which include Room 302 as server #1 in 2001, Underworld as Dr. Adam Lockwood in 2003, The Human Stain as young Coleman Silk in 2003, The Confession as the prisoner in 2005, Resident Evil: Afterlife as Chris Redfield in 2010, The Loft as Luke Seacord in 2014 and Resident Evil: The Final Chapter as Chris Redfield in 2017.

He is also the writer and co-producer of the movie Stoker which released in the year 2013. He is the writer of the 2016 movie The Disappointments Room. In the year 2013, he admitted to being gay on a website while disclosing the reason for not being the part of Petersburg International Film Festival. During his one of the earlier interviews, he stated that he is not gay and wanted to have a girlfriend. His current boyfriend is rumored to be Luke McFarlane. There is no information about him being married or any other relationships. According to his biography, his net worth is $40 Million.
