Zach Henri was born into a creative and unconventional family. He is the son of actress Brenda Strong, best known for her role in the television series Desperate Housewives (2004–2012), and yoga instructor Tom Henri. Brenda Strong, crowned Miss Arizona in 1980, later expanded her interests to include yoga instruction and authorship. She appeared in the rebooted series Dallas (2012–2014) and has written about the relationship between yoga and fertility. Tom Henri became a certified yoga instructor after being introduced to the practice in the late 1980s. Reflecting on his initial experience with yoga, he once said: “In the late 1980s, a friend encouraged me to attend yoga classes. I was the only man among twenty-five women and couldn’t maintain a single pose. Who would have thought I’d make a living out of it?”
Brenda and Tom were married from 1989 until 2013. Growing up in such a dynamic environment, Zach Henri was deeply influenced by both the entertainment and wellness industries.
From a young age, Zach Henri was immersed in the entertainment world, frequently attending film premieres, the Golden Globes, and the Academy Awards with his mother. These early experiences sparked his interest in acting. During his teenage years, he decided to pursue a career in the entertainment industry, following in his mother’s footsteps.
Zach began his acting career with a role in the television series Bunheads during the 2012–2013 season. The show focused on young ballet dancers at a performing arts school and their interpersonal rivalries and aspirations. Although a minor role, it marked Zach’s initial step into professional acting.
His breakout came with the 2014 comedy film Blended, starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore. The story follows two single parents—Lauren and Jim—whose disastrous blind date takes an unexpected turn after they find themselves on the same family vacation in Africa. Zach played the role of Jake, the teenage son of one of Jim’s friends, and his character develops a romantic interest in Hilary, Jim’s oldest daughter.
