Marlo Thomas is an American social activist, producer, and actress best known for her role as Ann Marie on the sitcom, "That Girl". She was born in 1937 to a Lebanese father and Italian mother, and grew up in California. She attended Marymount High School and USC, and was in a long relationship with playwright Herb Gardner. She married Phil Donahue in 1980, and had a successful career in television, winning four Emmys, a Golden Globe Award, and a George Foster Peabody Award.
