Steven Van Zandt, often known as Miami Steve is an American rock musician, a guitarist and an idol musician, an actor
as well as a record producer. He has been associated with several musical
groups like Southside Johnny The Asbury Jukes, Little Steven The
Disciples of Soul and some others as well, but is best known for playing
the lead guitar in Bruce Springsteen The E Street Band. He and Bruce Springsteen were childhood friends,
who after sharing an interest in music for several years, started working
together and formed a band where Steve played the mandolin and guitar too. Since
1975, he also started out as a writer and has written many songs for Bruce, Born
to Run, Freeze Out and many others. Similarly, he was also the writer for Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes,
and later became the producer of the band making many hit songs like “I don’t want
to go home” and “Hearts of Stone” which were the signature records of this
band. Between 1984 and 1999, he was not involved in any bands and used to work
as a solo artist making soul music, to hard rock and later world music. He had
released 4 albums during this time, and many of his songs were included in the
Bill Board top 100 list. He, along with 49 other legendary singers formed the “Artists
United Against Apartheid” activist group which boycotted the Sun City resort
