Cheryl got her foot into media through an unconventional path. She was a contestant on Star Search  which was a national talent show that was broadcasted across the country. The show featured talented performers of all ages and different backgrounds. The show was responsible for launching the careers of many musicians and stage performers. Cheryl used her Star Search boost to eventually become one of the top rated television journalists in her industry. Cheryl was fortunate to have numerous achievements in her life.

Besides being an esteemed news anchor for Chicago based television network WLS-TV, Cheryl is also an award winning journalist, ex-special Ed teacher and ex-professional cheerleader. Her diverse past work experience is a reflection of Cheryl’s personality. It’s not common for a former cheerleader to also be a former special education teacher. It shows how balanced Cheryl can be and how she can adapt to working with different groups of people.  In addition to her regular news anchoring duty, she also contributes on the 10 PM newscast of WLS-TV. Cheryl initially joined the WLS-TV network when she was thirty years old. It took Cheryl a few years longer than her peers to reach the top but she never stopped growing after reaching that milestone in 1992. Her first role at the Chicago station was the position of co-anchor/reporter. She had actually received many offers but decided it was in her best interest to reject the other top affiliates before choosing WLS-TV because it was considered to be the best network in the area.

Cheryl benefited from having very supporting parents who emphasized the importance of education. Cheryl proudly holds a double degree in biology and psychology from the University of Illinois. Having a just one degree in one of those disciplines is impressive enough. The fact that Cheryl received two degrees shows how ambitious she was as a young woman in college. She initially went to college with the goal and dream of becoming a successful and well respected doctor. She completed all the work and checked off all things on the checklist for becoming a doctor. She put in a lot of effort and time to earned the grades in order to fulfill her medical dream but her life story took a turn when she joined WGN-TV as the co-anchor of the nationally syndicated weekend series MBR: The Minority Business Report.  The change in her life was unexpected but it would result in a life full of success and accomplishments for Cheryl. Cheryl’s other notable work credits on television include WMB-TV as a reporter and KWCH-DT as an anchor.

Cheryl has an impressive physique that is admired by many people. Cheryl possesses a height of 5 feet and 7 inches. She is widely celebrated for her attractive slim figure, thick legs, and a beautiful smiley face.
