He played basketball in school and even was named High School Player of the Year by Basketball America. Afterwards he chose to attend the Georgia Tech and studied graphic design as well as a computer imaging. At that time he also played for the College team during 2002 – 2003. Afterwards, Chris decided to leave Georgia Tech and later entered the 2003 NBA draft.

In the 2013 he appeared in the 79 games in the season and made more than 16 points and 6.6 rebounds per one game. In the 2016 he failed a physical exam by the Heat team. He wanted to return to the Heat team for the next 2016–17 season, but later team president Pat Riley said that his career for the Miami Heat team is over.
