Jean Fréchet

Jean Frechet is a professor and an American chemist at the University of California. He has established himself as a pioneer, in the field of chemistry.

Personal life

Jean M. J. Frechet was born in France in the year, 1944. He was brought up in the United States. He belongs to an educated background which is the reason, he was brought up with great discipline. He was very good in studies from childhood and was always focused on his work.

Along with studies, he took interest in several sports events and debates. He used to participate in several cultural events, during his school days. He used to spend most of his time by reading books or doing research. He had a great interest in Chemistry and wanted to pursue it in his future career. He achieved his first bachelor's degree from the Institute de Chemie et Physique Industrillies university which is situated in France.

He performed very well in the university and excelled in academics, at the university. After completing his education, he shifted to the United States for doing the graduation in organic and polymer chemistry. He received a scholarship owing to his academic performance which helped him to get the opportunity of securing admission in the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry.

After that, he joined Syracuse University and University of Ottawa in Canada in the Chemistry department. He carried on his further research and studies from University of Ottawa and finally achieved his certification award in the year 1987. He carried on with his studies and research work to finally establish himself, as a professor. During these university years, Jane Frechet got married to his wife Janet, who studied with him in the university. Both of them got married just after completing their university studies and is leading a happy married life with his family.

Career

He finally became an IBM Professor of Polymer Chemistry in the Cornell University because of his excellent research project on polymer chemistry. He carried on with his work in the university as a professor for about ten years and then left the university to finally join the University of California in the Chemistry department. There he was recruited as a senior professor for organic chemistry and was named as the Henry Rapport Chair of Organic Chemistry during the year, 2003.

Later, due to his excellent qualities, he was promoted to the chemical engineering department of the University in the year 2005. His further research works and projects paved the path of his further career and he became the Vice President of Research at the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology.

Throughout these years of his career, he has achieved a number of awards and certifications for his work along with the nobel prize in chemistry. He also owns a high amount of net worth, which serves as a proof of his success. Recently, he has also been listed among the millionaires in the nation.
