Her acting career started as early as in 1989 which saw her playing the role of Alice in University of Michigan’s stage play, Alice in Wonderland. She was chosen by an agent soon after to do a commercial advertisement. She even said in an interview that it was difficult for an Asian to make a mark in Hollywood given the scarcity of Asian roles. She had romanced quite a few people on-screen with various roles on television and the big screen, including her career-making role in Ally McBeal but her first off-screen relationship started with Hollywood heartthrob and super star George Clooney. The couple were first said to have started dating in 2000 after meeting at certain movie premieres and since Clooney had landed on quite a few high-profile roles by then, unlike Lucy who was still finding her feet, the gossip circles got quite a lot to talk about. They were soon, seen together clicking photos of them at red carpet events and even the media was quite happy with the buzz.

Their relationship continued for some time and even the paparazzi got the opportunity of their lives when they caught Lucy in an intimate kiss with Clooney on New Year’s Eve. With everyone cashing in, on their steamy session, the world never noticed the break-up that occurred suddenly between the couple. Lucy Liu’s next known boyfriend was American movie director Zach Helm. The couple started dating somewhere around 2002-03 and even announced about their relationship to the world quite soon. Lucy was particularly interested in this relation and many even expected them to make a great couple. They were even seen to be living together for a while after getting into the relationship. Lucy and Zach announced their engagement in 2004 and everyone expected them to get married soon. But hell broke out between the two as they got separated soon after. Lucy’s next affair supposedly and reportedly started in 2004 but the exact date of their meet and their first date has still been kept hidden by the couple. Will McCormack, an American television and stage actor who has also ventured into writing scripts for films and Lucy Liu’s relationship started off the radar and as per gossip circles, the couple is still going strong. They have never been spotted together in public events mostly because of issues related to privacy. 

Lucy was then linked to a few co-actors but her current relationship with Will McCormack seems to be going really well. One would wish the couple to come out soon and make the relation public!
