Susan Nicole had an enormous interest in movies and filmmaking since she was 12, that’s why choosing a university for bachelors wasn’t hard at all. Susan decided to attend Southern California Universities’ School Of Cinematic Arts.

Levin started her carrier in the Threshold Entertainment Company, where she produced films “Mortal Combat” and “Mortal Combat: Annihilation”, and “Mortal Combat: Conquest”. Soon she was offered to hold the dual posts of Co-President of Dark Castle Entertainment and Executive Vice President of Production at Silver Pictures. In 2002 she was already co-directing “Ghost Ship”. The Silver Company seemed to be pleased with the job she had done and offered her another co-directing project named “Cradle 2 the Grave”. The same year she was producing the film “Gothika”, where she met her future husband Robert Downey Junior. A famous actor, the son of a well-known film director Robert Downey, had a so-called “black stripe in his life”. He was an alcohol and drug addict, with several prison terms. He had a relationship with Sarah Jessica Parker, who was trying to prevent him from falling down for seven years, but eventually gave up on him. His first marriage with Deborah Falconer fell apart, when Robert ended up in jail for drunk driving.

Even though Robert wasn’t nearly Susan’s dream husband, a couple stated dating. Robert proposed the day before Susan’s thirtieth birthday, on November 5, 2003. They got married on August 27, 2005 in Jewish synagogue in Amagansett, New York. The same year Susan produced such films as “House of Wax”, “Kiss Kiss Big Bang”. In 2007 she was responsible for films “The Reaping”, “The Invasion”, and “The Brave One”. She is also famous for producing such films as “RocknRolla” (2008), where her husband was starring, “Orphan” (2009), “Whiteout” (2009), and “Sherlock Holmes”.

An interesting fact – Robert Downey Jr. asked his wife to help him to receive the role of Sherlock, when they worked on the film “RocknRolla” along with Guy Richie. According to Downey family, it’s the best way to work together and not to miss each other during the filming process. In 2010 Susan not only worked on “The Book of Evil”, “Due Date”, and “Iron Man 2”, but also started a new project along with Robert entitled Team Downey. This company has already produced a film “The Judge” in 2014, the same year their second daughter Avri was born. Their first son Exton was born in 2012.

The Downey family relationship is a great example of how love of one partner can save the life of the other. Robert Downey Jr. admits, “The old saying is true – behind every good man there's an incredible woman. I owe a huge amount – if not all – of my success to Susan.”
