Xavier Woods was born as Austin Watson on September 4, 1986 in Columbus, Georgia. Many WWE competitors left high school and college to pursue their ring dreams but Austin Watson is a long way from your normal WWE wrestler. In spite of his colossal movement in wrestling, Watson found an opportunity to win not one, but two educational degrees. He has a bachelor's and master's degree from the Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina. Watson also has a Ph.D. in educational psychology from the online college, Capella University.
Watson made his pro wrestling debut in 2005, after moving on from Sprayberry High School. He started with NWA Anarchy and received the moniker Austin Creed which was influenced by the Rocky film series character Apollo Creed. Following two years with NWA Anarchy, Watson changed switched to TNA in 2007 and embraced the ring name Consequences Creed.
He had a short stint with New Japan Pro Wrestling before making it to the WWE in July 2010. In the WWE, Watson initially utilized his genuine name for his ring name before embracing Xavier Woods. Woods joined Kofi Kingston and Big E to frame The New Day in 2014 and it wasn't long before they turned into fan favorites.
In 2015, Watson added a YouTube channel to his career after he started a YouTube gaming channel UpUpDownDown. The channel immediately earned more than 1 million supporters. Xavier Woods is an ardent gamer and even has a Twitch account.
In June 2019, The New Day lost a tag team match to Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens at WWE Stomping Grounds.
Woods has been married to Jess Watson since October 2015. After being away from the WWE for some time, reports surfaced that the break was entirely so that he could get married with Jess.
The couple enjoyed a quiet and drama free marriage until March 2017 when leaked photographs and recordings including him and another WWE star Paige were released on the web. Woods was seen engaging in sexual relations with Paige while another WWE star Brad Maddox filled in as the cameraman. Fans pondered what impact the video would have on his marriage with his spouse, Jess Watson. Fortunately, the video had little influence on his marriage as it was filmed before his relationship with Jess.
