Yo Gotti

Yo Gotti (his real name is Mario Mims) was born in 1981, May 19 in Memphis, Tennessee. The musician did not have a great career at first but his wish to make it in the world of music was simply too great not to be able to achieve. He tried looking for different ways to make himself a known rapper but it seemed like nothing was working out. After contemplating for a while Gotti came up with an idea to produce as many independent albums and track and get attention this way. The idea was a good one and give the artist some following but was still not enough to make it in the big world. Since the rapper did not have a lot of money he decided to stay in his hometown and perform in underground venues hoping to get some exposure and recognition from the fans of hip-hop. The idea was great and Gotti started to get a more regular following and was looking to make his breakthrough in the mainstream world of hip-hop music. After hard work and dedication his dream became a reality and the author is now one of the biggest names in the music industry and his brand is recognized all over the United States of America.

Career

The rapper began his career as a musician in the year 2000. When he was 14 years old Gotti called himself Lil Yo and was running with his crew. In the same year, the rapper released his first album From Da Dope Game 2 Da Rap Game. It was an independent creation and did not receive that much recognition. Until 2006, which in his biography is considered to be Gotti's early career, the rapper released 3 more albums: Self-Explanatory, Life, and Back 2 da Basics.

For the next 3 years, Yo Gotti was keeping a low profile. He released a track titled "5 Star" in the spring of 2009. This was rapper's first major work since his last album. After a few weeks, he collaborated with Lil Wayne and the two came up with "Women Lie, Men Lie", a track which has received a lot of success in various radio stations. Yo Gotti released a couple more single tracks until in 2012 he put all of his recent work in an album Live From The Kitchen. It sold over 35 thousand copies in the United States in less than a month since the release.

After his success with the last album, Gotti decided to do more tracks. In 2013, he announced his partnership with Epic Records. After the deal was made the rapper began working on the new album I Am. The tracks featured in the collection like "Act Right", "King Shit", "Cold Blood", and others were a huge success in both mainstream radio stations and in those less popular ones.

The rapper is not dating anyone at the moment but he does have a child. He joined Twitter in 2009 and has over 1.3 million followers. The artist's height is about 5 feet and 5 inches. His net worth is estimated to be worth around 2.5 million dollars.

Yo Gotti was nominated for BET Hip Hop Awards in 2014 for I Am as an Album of the Year.
