A.J. Green was born on 31 July 1988 in South Carolina, USA. He was born to black parents who have American nationality. His mother’s name is Dora and she worked at Walmart and his father’s name is Woodrow and he worked as a truck driver and steel worker. He had to go through a very bad phase in when his elder brother died in a car accident.
Green has been talented in sports since his childhood. He used to juggle for the juggling team when he was in the kindergarten. His hand-eye coordination has been improved due to juggling. Green enrolled into Summerville High School in South Carolina. His speed and quick change of pace were recognized by his football coach who took him in the school team and started to play him as a wide receiver.
In his school days, he was well known for his play and people were considering him to be one of the top players when he grows up. In 2006 he was chosen to the All-American team after he recorded 76 receptions for a total of 1217 yards. He completed 8 touchdowns as well. In the national federation of high schools, his record of 5373 yards ranks second in the all-time rank.
In 2008 he joined the University of Georgia and started playing for the college team. In his first season, he performed well and was added to the playing team for the most of the games. In that season he completed 56 catches and also did 8 touchdowns. In 2009 he played at the same level and won many games for his team.
In 2010 he had an issue with the board as he sold his jersey which was a crime and so he had to pay $1000 to the charity. He had to miss 4 games in that season because of that.
In 2011 he was signed by the Cincinnati Bengals for a contract sum of $19.6 million. In the first season, he couldn’t play many games as he was going through an injury. The very next season he improved his game and recorded 97 receiving for a total of 1350 yards. He has since then played with only one team and has performed on a regular basis.
His best season was in 2013 when he made a total of 98 receiving for 126 yards. He has till now made a total of 481 receiving for 7135 total yards.
