Adrian Clayborn is known as an American football defensive end for the New England Patriots of the National Football League.
Adrian Clayborn was born in St. Louis, Missouri. When his mom gave birth to him, he suffered from a condition known as Erb's Palsy. It is a condition that is caused during birth by an injury to the nerves surrounding a baby's shoulder area.
His head and neck were pulled to the side as his shoulders passed through the birth canal. The incident caused him to suffer nerve damage which ended up with the loss of some movement and weakness in his right arm. He had to do physical therapy throughout his young life but eventually fought and overcame the limitations caused by his medical disorder.
Adrian played college football for the University of Iowa. He was a top performer and earned consensus All-American honors. After a stellar college football career, Adrian was drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft.
Adrian’s older brother, Anthony, was shot and killed in northern St. Louis when Adrian was just 10 years old. His brother was the father of seven children at the time of his death.
Adrian and his wife Shannon are big givers of the community. They volunteer at the Hesed House homeless shelter in Aurora, Illinois to show how much they care about the less fortunate.
