Aimee Carrero is a Dominican-American actress who is perhaps most well known as the voice actor behind the character of She-Ra in the animated Netflix series She-Ra and the Princesses of Power. Aimee Carrero was born on July 15, 1988, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Aimee’s mother was Dominican and her father was Puerto Rican; Aimee grew up in Miami, Florida. Aimee attended Florida International University, graduating magna cum laude in 2008, with a Bachelors of Science degree in international relations after just two years of study. Aimee was preparing to go to law school but her love for acting just kept calling to her and she left to do community theater in Miami. Aimee’s first feature film work was an appearance as Emily in the Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel. Other film credits include Never Winter (2010), Devil’s Due (2014), The Last Witch Hunter (2015), The Portuguese Kid (2018), and Dylan (2018).
Aimee co-starred in the Lifetime television film Blue Lagoon: The Awakening in 2012 and as undercover communist Lucia on The Americans in 2014. Aimee has been playing the role of Sofia Rodriguez on the American situational comedy, Young & Hungry, for the past four years. Aimee Carrero was engaged to fellow actor Tim Rock in November of 2015. The couple was married in August of 2016.
