AJ Pritchard is a British professional dancer and choreographer who is perhaps best known for his work as a professional dancer on the BBC One competitive dance television show Strictly Come Dancing. The show is a dance contest in which celebrities partner with professional dancers and compete for scores (in front of a panel of judges) in various ballroom and Latin style dance routines. AJ Pritchard was born Alex Joseph Pritchard on November 5, 1994, in Sneyd Green, Stoke-on-Trent, England. Pritchard began dancing at the age of twelve; he was soon partnered (at the request of his parents) with Chloe Hewitt, who attended the same dance school. The couple has since represented Britain in contests all over the world, winning the National Youth Latin Championships for three years in a row from 2012-2014.
The couple was also the British Open Youth Champions and the European Youth Latin Champions. Pritchard’s younger brother, Curtis, is also a professional dancer and appears on the television show Dancing with the Stars in Ireland. Pritchard has made appearances on Britain’s reality television programming including Britain’s Got Talent (where he reached the semi-finals along with his partner Chloe) and Celebrity Master Chef (where his apple crumble failed to wow the judges).
