In 1999, Sanz married actress and model Jaydy Michel in a symbolic ceremony held in Bali. The union was never legally recognized, but the couple considered it a legitimate commitment. They had one daughter, Manuela Sánchez, born in 2001. Their relationship ended in 2005.
