Alejandro Sanz, the renowned Spanish musician, was born on December 18, 1968. His full name is Alejandro Sánchez Pizarro, and he hails from Madrid, Spain. Standing at 5 feet 8 inches tall, he is widely regarded as one of the most successful and influential Spanish singers of his generation. The youngest among his siblings, his father was a professional guitarist and worked as a book salesman. Musical Beginnings and Early Albums

Alejandro Sanz released his first studio album in 1989 under the stage name Alejandro Magno. Although the debut did not see commercial success, it laid the groundwork for his career. His breakthrough came with his second album, Viviendo Deprisa, released in 1991. The record marked the start of his rise in the Spanish pop music scene and showcased his unique ability to blend romantic ballads with pop melodies.

He followed up with Si Tú Me Miras in 1993 and 3 in 1995, both of which solidified his status as an international Latin pop artist. These projects opened the door for greater recognition in Latin America and beyond.

Breakthrough and International Success

Sanz's 2000 album, El Alma al Aire, was a turning point in his career. The album sold over one million copies in its first week and became one of the best-selling albums in Spain. He made history as the first Spanish artist to record an MTV Unplugged album, further elevating his global profile.

He broadened his musical style and collaborated with various artists, most notably Colombian singer Shakira. Their 2005 hit single “La Tortura” topped charts internationally and became an anthem of Latin pop crossover success. Alejandro also recorded his first English song, “Try To Save Your Song,” sometimes informally referred to as “Blowfish,” although it was not part of Viviendo Deprisa. He continued to explore new musical directions with albums like No Es Lo Mismo (2003) and El Tren de los Momentos (2006).
