Early Life and Background

Alexis Sánchez, whose full name is Alejandro Sánchez Sánchez, was born in December 1988 in Chile. Commonly known as Alexis, he is a professional footballer who has earned international recognition for his contributions on the field.

Club Career

Sánchez began his professional football career with Chilean club Cobreloa. His talent quickly drew international attention, leading to a transfer to Udinese Calcio in Italy. Before debuting in Serie A, Sánchez was loaned to Colo-Colo in Chile and subsequently to River Plate in Argentina, gaining valuable experience and exposure.

In 2011, he signed with FC Barcelona for a reported £25 million, making him the most expensive Chilean footballer at the time. His dynamic performances at Camp Nou positioned him among Europe’s elite forwards. In 2014, Sánchez transferred to Arsenal in a deal reported to be worth £31.7 million. At the time, it was the third-highest transfer fee in Arsenal’s history, following those of Mesut Özil and Granit Xhaka.

International Career

Alexis Sánchez has been a regular fixture for the Chilean national team since 2006. He has earned over 100 international caps, making him one of the most capped players in Chile’s history, second only to goalkeeper Claudio Bravo. With more than 40 international goals, he is Chile’s all-time leading goal scorer.

He represented Chile in two FIFA World Cups (2010 and 2014) and in multiple Copa América tournaments. Notably, he played a key role in Chile’s victories in the 2015 and 2016 editions of the Copa América.
