Almighty Jay, whose real name is Jay Bradley, is a rapper and YouTube personality from Texas. He gained prominence as a member of the American hip-hop collective YBN, which stands for Young Boss N*ggaz. The group was co-founded by Nick Simmons, better known by his stage name YBN Nahmir.
YBN began as an informal online group and quickly evolved into a successful music collective. The members, hailing from states including Alabama, Texas, California, and Maryland, initially connected through online gaming platforms such as Xbox Live, where Almighty Jay and YBN Nahmir would freestyle during group chats. This creative collaboration led to their first recorded track, "Hood Mentality."
The group broke into mainstream success in 2017 with the release of YBN Nahmir’s single “Rubbin Off the Paint,” which went viral and peaked at number 46 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. That success helped the group secure a deal with Atlantic Records. In September 2018, YBN released their debut collective project, YBN: The Mixtape, featuring collaborations with major artists like Gucci Mane, Machine Gun Kelly, and Chris Brown.
Almighty Jay also pursued a solo music career alongside his work with YBN. His breakout solo track “Chopsticks” was released in 2017 and went viral online, garnering over four million views within its first month on YouTube. Despite its digital popularity, the song did not chart on the Billboard rankings.
