Amanda Schull was born on August 26, 1978, in Honolulu, Hawaii, U.S.A. She attended Punahou School and later pursued higher education at Indiana University Bloomington. During her time at Indiana University, she received a scholarship from the San Francisco Ballet School, allowing her to further her ballet training and transition into a professional dancing career.
Schull began her ballet training at an early age under the guidance of John Landovsky at Hawaii State Ballet. In 1999, following her scholarship-sponsored education, she formally entered the world of professional ballet. She danced with Ballet San Francisco (not 'Ballet De Corps') until her retirement from ballet in 2006.
Her breakthrough into acting came while she was still active as a ballerina. In 2000, Amanda landed the lead role of Jody Sawyer in the dance drama Center Stage, which garnered her widespread recognition. The role marked a turning point in her career, bridging her ballet background with the entertainment industry. Her performance in the film, particularly during the final dance scene, resonated with viewers and established her as a promising young actress.
