Amy McGrath is known as an American former Marine fighter pilot and political candidate. She is most famous for being the first female pilot to fly the F/A-18 on a combat mission.

Amy M. McGrath-Henderson was born on June 3, 1975 in Kenton County, Kentucky. When McGrath was a baby, she rapidly discovered that there was a government law that prohibited ladies from serving in battle roles inside the military. So she wrote to members of Congress and sent letters to be distributed in the place where she grew. Yet, McGrath was disappointed to learn from one of her congressmen that she wouldn't most likely accomplish that fantasy.

McGrath is the most youthful of three children and experienced childhood in Edgewood, Kentucky, outside of Covington. Her father was a high school English educator, while her mom was a therapeutic specialist and the primary female to move on from the University of Kentucky's school. She went to Notre Dame Academy in Park Hills, Kentucky, and stayed dynamic in sports and scholastics.

When she was a senior at Notre Dame, McGrath was eager to gain proficiency with the government law that once prevented ladies from battling in flight missions and she kept on pursuing her long lasting objectives in the military.

In July 2019, the retired Marine lieutenant colonel and battle pilot whose rising stardom in the Democratic Party in 2018 failed to catch her a House seat in Kentucky, reported that she would try to challenge Senator Mitch McConnell, the Republican majority leader in 2020. She made her expectations known with a video criticizing Mr. McConnell who was first chosen for the Senate in 1984 and has filled in as the focal balance for President Trump in Washington. In the video, she said "Everything that’s wrong in Washington had to start someplace. It started with this man who was elected a lifetime ago, and who has, bit by bit, year by year, turned Washington into something we all despise.”

Marriage, Wife and Kids

Erik Henderson is married to the retired Marine military pilot Amy McGrath Henderson is also retired from the military. He served in the Navy for almost two decades. The couple has three children and now lives in Georgetown, Kentucky along with their relatives. Erik Henderson and Amy McGrath initially met at some point in 2004. They got married on December 19, 2009.

The couple chose to move their family back to Kentucky in 2017 after she resigned from the Marines. McGrath's cover photo on her Facebook page is an image of the family around the table, working on schoolwork.
