Anna Davlantes is an American journalist who is known for being the host for Good Day Chicago at WFLD FOX-32 in Chicago. Daviantes has won seven different regional Emmy Awards. One of the Emmy Awards was for an episode she produced entitled “Get into the Shark Tank”. Daviantes is an experienced scuba diver and she hosted as well as produced the high definition documentary which involved swimming underwater sharks. The documentary was filmed almost entirely underwater in the shark tank at the Shedd Aquarium. For this work, Davlantes is credited with the first underwater live shot on a local newscast. Anna Daviantes was also the primary anchor of Fox Station KRIV in the Houston. But, after working for the ABC affiliate WPTA-TV in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Daviantes returned to her native Chicago
Anna Daviantes attended the Disney magnet Lane Tech High School, Oxford University, and was also enrolled in Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University.
Anna first rose to fame as a broadcaster in 2003 when she broke a news story about teenage hazing. Daviantes was able to acquire video showing the seniors of Glenbrook North High School hazing the juniors at a powder puff game in Illinois. Daviantes then appeared on ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show’ to talk about the problems around youth hazing. Daviantes’ work on this subject is said to have helped lead to national hazing reform.
In 2005, Anna Davlantes worked on a story that exposed mob intimidation in Bridgeview, Illinois. Daviantes received many threats and was exposed to intimidation tactics while she was investigating the story. The Chicago Headline Club recognized this work as important and she was awarded the Ethics Award in Journalism.
It was reported by Timeout Magazine that Anna Davlantes was offered a chance to be a co-anchor on a long term contract on the Today Show but she turned it down so that she could stay in Chicago. It has also been reported that both MSNBC and CNN asked her to join their organizations in the past year. It has also been reported that Daviantes may anchor the noon with five news for the Fox broadcasting network in Chicago. Daviantes works with Chris Meyer who is in the News Director and they were together on NBC5. Anna Davlantes stopped working for Fox Chicago in 2013 when her contract with the news agency expired. Daviantes has since worked as a fill-in for the co-host of WLS-AM Radio with Richard Roeper and Roe Conn. As of March 6, 2014, Davlantes is a radio host for WGN Radio and an anchor for WGN-TV, as well as being a member of the investigation unit for WGN.
Anna Davlantes is a married woman and her husband’s name is David R Gamperi. After dating for some time, the couple eloped in May of 2011 to Paris, France, where they were wed in a sixteenth century French church. When the couple returned, they held a wedding reception at Carmichael's restaurant in Chicago for approximately three hundred people. Carmichael's closed the entire restaurant for the seven-hour reception, which featured a covered, red-carpet entrance. The reception menu included mango margaritas, baby lamb chops, seared ahi tuna canape with wasabi cream, and garlic and herb slow-roasted prime rib. The couple also had a castle-shaped bounce house for children attending the event. The reception was reported to have cost $69,000.
