Austin Jones is a musician and former content creator for YouTube with millions of fans who was arrested in 2017 on two felony counts of child pornography. The twenty four year old singer was charged with using his fame to lure underage girls into sending him sexually explicit videos. Austin Jones was born on December 12, 1992, in Bloomingdale, Illinois. He began releasing music in 2007 and was well known for his a cappella videos of song covers such as Panic! at the Disco’s “I Write Sins Not Tragedies”, and Fall Out Boy’s “Welcome to the Black Parade.”
Austin Jones also covered every song from Twenty One Pilot’s Blurryface. In 2015, a petition to revoke Austin Jones participation in the upcoming Warped Tour was created because of the reports that Austin Jones had contacted multiple underage female fans online, persuading them to twerk for him, but Jones was able to perform when not enough signatures were collected. Jones uploaded a video to YouTube to apologize and explained that no nudity was involved. However, on June 12, 2017, Jones was arrested at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport by agents of Homeland Security Investigation on two counts of producing child pornography, once in 2016 and once in 2017 and has been ordered to abstain from the internet while he awaits trial.
