Benton moved to California with her parents when she was two years old and grew up in Sacramento, where she attended Rio Americano High School. After graduating high school attended UCLA and took a job with Playboy to appear as an extra on the entertainment show Playboy after dark. Barbi quickly caught the eye of Hugh Hefner and the couple began dating and built a relationship that lasted for several years.
Barbi Benton appeared on the cover of Playboy four times and in additional nude layouts in December of 1973 and January of 1975. Barbi landed a spot on television’s Hee-Haw and actually enjoyed a career as a country singer. Barbi Benton married a real estate developer by the name of George Gradow in October of 1979 and the couple has two children, Alexander (born in August of 1986), and Ariana (born in July of 1988). The couple spends their time split between two homes, one in Aspen, and one in Los Angeles.
