Early Life and Youth Career

Bastian Schweinsteiger was born in 1984 in Germany and is of German nationality. Before committing fully to football, he was a talented ski racer and had to choose between a professional career in skiing or football. In 1998, he began playing at the youth level for Bayern Munich, laying the foundation for a decorated professional career.

Bayern Munich Career

Schweinsteiger spent more than 13 seasons at Bayern Munich, making over 500 appearances across all competitions and scoring 68 goals. Initially deployed as a wide midfielder, he later transitioned into a central midfield role, where he became a cornerstone of the team. During his time with Bayern, he amassed a wealth of honors, including eight Bundesliga titles, seven DFB-Pokal trophies, the UEFA Champions League title in 2013, the UEFA Super Cup, and the FIFA Club World Cup.

Move to Manchester United

In 2015, Schweinsteiger transferred to Manchester United in the English Premier League for a reported fee of £6.5 million. Although his tenure at the club was relatively short, he brought experience and leadership to the midfield. He was known for his versatility, primarily playing centrally but also capable of contributing from both wings.
