Personal life

Ben was born in New York. His father worked in a consulting firm and his mother was an associate in a law firm. He graduated from Brown University in 1993 with a master’s degree in Fine arts. He has a sister, who is married to Jami Byng, a British publisher. He married Lauren Bennett in 2005 and is still in a marital relationship with her.

Career

He started his career with a role in Quiz Show in 1994. He also starred in a guest role in Law and Order. While studying in the university, he played a role in a workshop. He worked in a lot of movies like The Siege, Eraser, Jesus’s son, Chasing sleep, Requiem for a dream, Angels in America and others. He also worked on studio movies like Must Love Dogs, Then, she found me and others. From time to time, he also worked in theatre productions.

He started his TV career in 2008 with a legal drama, Canterbury’s law. He also starred in Grey’s Anatomy, Drop dead diva, Lights out, Burn notice and others. In 2012, he joined Royal pains and has become a household name, since then. His recent films include Breathe In, Concussion and others. Other main TV series appearances include The Paul Reiser Show and others. He was nominated for several awards for his role as Louis Ironson in Angels in America which was aired in 2003. He was nominated for Primetime Emmy award for outstanding supporting actor and also nominated for Golden Globe for best supporting actor. Apart from these, he has starred in a lot of TV series in guest roles like Stella, Love Monkey, Wainy days, Ed and others. His recent TV shows include Billions, The Night Of, Royal Pains, Made in Jersey and others.

Family life

His wife, Lauren, is the director of Youth Programs. They got married in 2005, in Bronx. Along with their wedding announcement, he also announced that he changed the spelling of his family name from Sheinkman to Shenkman. He dated her for several years, before marrying her. They both are close to each other till date and there are no rumors about them getting divorced. They do not have any children together. Both Lauren and Ben have kept their family affairs to themselves. Both Lauren and Ben are not known to have extra marital affairs or other marital problems, till date. According to their close circle of friends, they are close and having good relationship with each other. Though he reveals his less personal information like his height being 6 feet and one inch, his birth sign being Virgo and others, he refused to part with details about his net worth or his salary.
