Personal life

As far as her personal life goes, Berenice is the daughter of Miguel Bejo and Silvia Bejo. Her father was an Argentine filmmaker and he is definitely one of the reason for which Berenice had a passion for acting since her early age. On the other hand her mother was an officer of the law and she practiced as a lawyer. However, when the Dirty War in Argentine took off, she and her entire family moved to France in order to escape all the violence.

Berenice starred in the OSS 117: Cairo, Nest of Spies back in 2006. There, she had the joy of meeting the director Michel Hazanavicius. They got married later and as a result of this they have two beautiful children – Lucien and their daughter Gloria. Berenice is also passionate about her posture and she cares to exercise regularly in order to keep her weight at check. She is under a diet in order to maintain her figure and she works out quite a lot. Career

Bejo had her film debut back in 2001 when she was given the role of Christiana in the movie “A Knight’s Tale”. She impersonated the character brilliantly and she got to work with Hollywood’s famous Heath Ledger. In 2002 however, she decided to get back to France and as a result she got the role of Olivia in the movie “24 Hours in the Life of a Woman” directed by Laurent Bouhnik back in 2003.

She had a few brief appearances up to 2011 when she got the role of Peppy Miller in the movie “The Artist”. The film was directed by her future husband. She had a brilliant performance and received a number of awards such as the César Award for Best Actress as well as several different nominations. This was definitely a leap forward in her career. Later on, in 2013 she managed to win the award for the best Actress on the Cannes Film Festival. This was for her role in “The Past”.

Hosting work

Not only is she a brilliant actress, Bejo is also quite enigmatic. This led to her being announced as the host of the impressive event which is the Cannes Film Festival. This happened in 2012. This is another significant achievement in her professional career. It is certain that Bejo has given a lot to the world of cinema and she definitely has a lot more to show.
