Big Sean was born in California and afterwards moved to Detroit. He was raised by his grandmother and mother. He graduated from Cass Technical High school and he attended Waldorf School. When he sings, he refers more to the west side which he means the west of Michigan. When he was about to finish his schooling, he attended WHTD station where he showcased his lyrics every week in the contest called rap battle.  When Kanye West went to the radio to do the interview, Sean sung for him his freestyle and gave him a demo tape. Within two years, he was signed in the recording of Good Music.

Big Sean was a boyfriend for a long period of Ashley Marie. They dated since high school from when he was sixteen but they have broken up in 2013.  He started to date Naya Rivera and he first met her on Twitter.  Their relationship was known to public in 2013, April, but he told Complex that they have been dating for a long time. Rivera and Big Sean announced that they are engaged in 2013, but there was no marriage that took place since their engagement was called off in 2014.  Now it is said that Big Sean is dating Ariana Grande.

In 2008, Big Sean had been featured in The Source with the headline the Style Section of this Magazine.  He talks about his personal style with the states and his favorite clothing magazines of 10 Deep, Bape and Billionaire Boys Club. He has posed for Billionaire Boys Club Lookbook and he is the consistent representative for TISA hats and clothing with Tyga and Chris Brown.  He has an endorsement with Adidas but he had released his Detroit Player sneakers.  He is a follower of Rosewood Clothing style.

 In 2011, Big Sean was arrested because of the sexual assault in a Lewiston concert but he pleaded guilty for the second degree unlawful imprisonment and he paid a fine of 750 dollars. The charges about sexual abuse were dropped and Big Sean was said that he did not engage in any type of misconduct.  

Big Sean has a net worth of around 6 million. He started to build his followers group since 2007 when he was releasing his own song on the internet.  He got also the salary from many endorsement deals he has and from his own fashion style.  Big Sean is an example of how perseverance and luck are important key for the success.  He started to rap when he was still young.
