She was raised in the Highland Park neighborhood of L.A. by her parents, both of whom are involved in the entertainment industry. Eilish was homeschooled and received early exposure to music and performance, fostering her creative development from a young age.
Career and Musical Breakthrough
Billie Eilish gained widespread recognition in 2016 with the release of her debut single "Ocean Eyes," a track written and produced by her older brother, Finneas O'Connell. The song went viral on SoundCloud and marked the beginning of her rise in the music industry.
In January 2017, she released four EP remixes of "Ocean Eyes" and followed up in February with the single "Bellyache," also produced by Finneas. The accompanying music video was directed by Miles and AJ. Later that year, she contributed the track "Bored" as part of the soundtrack for the Netflix series 13 Reasons Why.
