Brett Favre

Brett Favre is a former American football player, occupying the position of a quarterback. He was born back in 1969 on the 10th of October. His home town is Gulfport in the state of Mississippi in the United States of America. He has been involved in a variety of different NFL teams during his professional career.

Early life and college career

Favre was raised in the relatively small town of Kiln by his parents Irvin and Ernest Favre. His parents were both schoolteachers. Partially, Favre has a French ancestry. He comes from large family of four children. He was the second. Brett showed interest in American football early in high-school where he played a variety of roles such as placekicker, strong safety as well as lineman and quarterback.

Right after he graduated from high-school, Southern Mississippi was the only college offering him a scholarship. Even though the team had intended him to play defensive position, Favre insisted on being a quarterback. Brett started in a total of 10 games in the season of 1987 and he managed to lead his team to a victory in 6 of them. On September the 2nd, 1989, Favre managed to score a touchdown for the Golden Eagles with only 23 seconds remaining on the clock.

Professional Career

During 1991, Favre was drafted by the team of the Flacons of Atlanta. He was 33rd in the 1991 NFL draft. Reportedly, Brett signed a 1.4$ million contract and agreed upon a signing bonus of about $350,000. However, later this season he was traded for a first-round pick to the team of Green Bay Packers.

Favre would go on to play 16 seasons for the Packers, winning the AP MVP awards three times in a row – an accomplishment that hasn’t been achieved by anyone up until this date. He also managed to help the team to win the XXXI Super Bowl and he was on the main roaster every game from the 20th of September 1992 up until the 20th of January, 2008.

After his impressive run for the Packers, Brett was signed by the New York Jets in 2008. He stayed there for a year, contributing a great deal. On the 18th of August 2009 however, Favre signed with the Minnesota Vikings. He had one of the greatest seasons there, becoming the first quarterback in the history of NFL to beat all of the 32 franchises. All of his accomplishments have made him one of the richest NFL stars, gathering him a net worth of about 100$ million.

All of those accomplishments are what put Favre on the shortlist for the NFL Hall of Fame and he will be in 2016.

Personal Life

On July the 14th, 1996, Brett Favre married his wife, Deanna Tynes. They have two children together – their daughters Brittany and Breleigh. Brett is also a grandfather to two grandsons – Parker and A.J. He also leads an intense business life after the end of his NFL career. His mother, Bonita, helps him manage his holdings within the agricultural and real estate business. He is also known as a great philanthropist. He supposedly donated more than $2 millions to charities in his home state.
