Brigitte Kingsley was born in 1976 in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada. She spent her early years near the community of Hanmer before moving to Whitby, Ontario, at the age of 10. Her father, Denis Kingsley, worked in the lumber insurance industry for over two decades, while her mother, Diane Kingsley, was a French teacher at a Catholic school. After retiring from their professions, her parents launched and operated two franchises of Topper’s Pizza in the Ontario cities of Oshawa and Whitby.
Brigitte grew up with an older sister named Natalie. She began her acting career at the age of 14, appearing in a variety of television commercials for brands such as Oxy, Radio Shack, Head & Shoulders, McDonald's, and Foot Locker.
Kingsley completed her elementary education at a French Catholic school in Whitby and continued through to Grade 12. She completed her Ontario Academic Credit (OAC) at Anderson Collegiate Vocational Institute, also in Whitby. She pursued higher education at York University in Toronto, where she studied psychology and theatre. She graduated with honors, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Theatre Studies.
Brigitte Kingsley gained recognition as a television host, best known for hosting the series Game Nation for four seasons under the alias Suki Diefenbaker. During this time, she continued her academic pursuits and expanded her television presence with shows such as Screwed Over on MuchMusic.
She co-founded the production company Defiant Empire Corporation with her business partner—and later husband—Andrew Cymek. Together, they produced short films, commercials, and corporate videos. Eventually, they ventured into feature films, beginning with Dark Rising, a low-budget independent film starring wrestling star Jay Reso (also known as Christian Cage). The film was released under Universal Vivendi and became a cult favorite within the genre.
