Calais Campbell

Calais Campbell, an American football defensive end, was born on September 1, 1986, in Denver, Colorado, to Charles and Nateal Campbell. Standing at 6 feet 8 inches, Campbell made his mark in athletics from a young age. He attended South High School in Denver, where he excelled in both football and track and field, setting a state record with 57 sacks during his high school career. He also competed in discus and shot put, qualifying for state championships in 2003.

Campbell continued his athletic and academic pursuits at the University of Miami, where he played college football for the Miami Hurricanes. He completed his degree in sociology in December 2007. Shortly afterward, he declared for the NFL Draft and was selected by the Arizona Cardinals with the 50th overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft.
