Proud parents Cecil and Jackie Newton welcomed their second child Cameron Jerrell Newton on May 11,1989 in Savannah, Georgia. Cecil, an enthusiastic football player couldn’t make it to the big teams. However, he inspired both his sons to go ahead of him. Cam was raised in college Park in the suburban Atlanta. Cam’s father's rigorous trainings, developed him as an organised layer by the age of 8. He graduated from the Westlake High School, Atlanta, Georgia, where he played for the college’s team. His awesome performances at junior level, drew the attention of many towards his game and he was flooded with scholarships from various colleges including Georgia, Florida, and Virginia Tech etc. for playing senior level games.
Newton opted for the University of Florida for starting his senior year and was inducted in to the Florida Gators Football in the year 2007 and 2008. In the former he served as an excellent backup, but in the latter year he couldn't do much on the field due to an ankle injury. The year 2008, definitely proved to be a bad one for him when he was caught for buying a stolen laptop, although charges against him were dropped in lieu of giving him a second chance.
With the aforesaid incident, Newton did end up with a fair impression at Florida, hence he got a transfer to Blinn College, Brenham, Texas. He played e well under head coach Brad Franchione and took his team to the NJCAA National Football Championship, 2009. At the end of Junior college, he got hooked with the Tigers, Auburn University and eventually led them to a SEC championship in 2010.Cam is a two times winner of the Heisman Trophy and only the third player from Auburn to receive it.
Cam Newton did rigorous practice during the 2011 NFL draft. His professional career took flight when he was a reigning Heisman Trophy Winner in the year 2011 with the Carolina Panthers and the contract was signed for four years for a whooping sum of 22 million USD. However, he could not keep his No.2 jersey which he used while in Auburn. At the end of 2011 season, Newton was ranked 40th on the NFL top 100 player list and continued to be on the list in rest of the 3 years of the contract.
His contract was extended for five years, for a handsome amount of $103.8 million and he continues to charm with the Carolina panthers.
Newton has been the winner of many awards and trophies, remarkable amongst them are 5 nos. of rookie of the year award in the year 2011, All-Iron Award (2015), Carolina Panther all-time career leader etc. A few records to his credit include the maximum (14) number of touchdowns by a quarterback in a single NFL season and most games in the history of NFL with least passing yards.
Cam Newton stands 1.96m tall and this height gives him a handsome personality. At present, he seems to be happily melding his life with his girlfriend Hazel who is a former stripper. Cam is also fond of wearing customized designer cleats in his unique style.
