Carlos Pena 

Carlos Pena was born on 17 May 1878 in the Dominic Republic but later his parents moved to the USA when he was just 12 years old. His father Felipe Pena and mother Juana Marisela Pena wanted a better life opportunity for their son and so they sent him to one of his uncles in USA where he lived for a little while before his whole family moved to the USA. He did his schooling from Haverhill High School in Massachusetts. He later enrolled at Wright State University in Ohio.

Although he didn't complete his education and left it in between to focus on his baseball career. He started playing baseball at his collegiate level. He played in the Cape Cod League and went on to become the best player at the end taking his team to the top of the league. After his sublime performance, he was signed by the Texas Rangers in 1998 after being named in the 100 best future players by the sports magazine Baseball America.

He then joined Oklahoma Redhawks in 2001 playing at .288 and had 23 home runs as well. His fame grew at a very fast pace as all task to his beautiful play. He was then signed by Oakland Athletics in 2002 where he was a regular player for the team and also had his most successful career time in 2004 when he was at his best. He drew a large number of crowd in the stadium who came to watch him play. He then left his old club and joined Boston Red Sox in 2006 although he didn't have that good of a season there and left it for Tampa Bay Rays just a year later. Here he established himself as a very reliable player and won many games for the club. His adventure continued in 2010 when he left Tampa Bay and joined Chicago Cubs for a fee of $10 million. His form dropped in the coming years and so he decided to retire but he wanted to retire at Tampa Bay where he had the bet record so he contacted the Club owners and asked them to sign him for just a day. The owner complied with his demands as he was a club legend. All the formalities were done and Tampa Bay signed Carlos again and on the same day, he took retirement from the game in front of his fans and family members. This was a very sad moment for him as he had to leave his beloved sports that made him what he is today but he took it on the face and retired.

Carlos Pena is married to Pamela Pena who was his long time girlfriend. He is also an avid charity man and gives out to the unprivileged people around him.
