Casey Gerald was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. Despite a difficult childhood, Gerald attended Yale where he received his undergraduate degree in Political Science in 2009 and continued on to Harvard where he received his MBA. After graduating, he worked in economic policy for the Center for American Progress. Gerald has also worked for companies such as Reboot and Neiman Marcus Group.

He recently co-founded the organization MBAs Across America and serves as the company's CEO. In 2016, he gave a very succesful TED Talk speaking about how to embrace uncertainty. In 2018, he released his memoir titled There Will Be No Miracles Here, which was named a best book of 2018 by both NPR and The New York Times. Much of his work is focused on political and social change and the concept of the American Dream in today's society.
