Casey Gerald was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. Despite facing challenges during his upbringing, he excelled academically and went on to attend Yale University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in Political Science in 2009. He later pursued graduate studies at Harvard Business School, receiving his MBA.
Following his studies, Gerald began his professional career working on economic policy at the Center for American Progress, a progressive public policy research and advocacy organization based in Washington, D.C. He later contributed to innovation and strategy initiatives at organizations such as Reboot, a social impact firm, and the Neiman Marcus Group, a luxury department store company headquartered in Dallas.
Gerald co-founded MBAs Across America, an organization that connects MBA students with small businesses to promote entrepreneurial growth and social impact. He has served as the organization’s CEO, helping to drive its mission of redefining success in business through purpose-driven leadership and community empowerment.
In 2016, Gerald delivered a well-received TED Talk where he explored themes of uncertainty and the evolving nature of leadership. His message resonated widely, highlighting the importance of embracing ambiguity in personal and professional journeys.
In 2018, Gerald released his memoir, There Will Be No Miracles Here. The book blends memoir with social commentary, offering a candid exploration of identity, politics, and the American Dream.
