Catherine McClements is an Australian born actress who has featured in several television shows and movies. Catherine McClements was born in Melbourne, Australia in 1965 in a family of three. She is a daughter of Frank and Pamela. Her parent worked as high school teachers. Both her two sisters Susan and Georgina worked and his brother Brendan work in the entertainment industry. Education

She went to the National institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) where she graduated in 1985. While in school they hatched an idea together with her fellow students to start a theatre group called the ‘Six Years Old’ where they were acting the play ‘Strictly Ballroom’. They produced the play when in their second year of study.

Career

Catherine began her career as an actress when she was still studying. In 1983 she worked with the St. Martin’s Youth Company in Melbourne, Australia. When at college, she was a member of the theatre group ‘Six Years Old’ which they started with other school members including Buz Luhrmann. Upon graduating in 1985 she went on to become an established movie actor where she took part in several movies. She started with taking part in the movie ‘Right Hand Man’ and ‘My Brother Tom’.

Since then she has featured in several movies and theatre works. She come into the limelight in the drama “water rats” in 1996. The drama continued until 1999. From there she participated in other several popular movies and series including the “CrashBurn” where she starred as Rosie. She was also a guest actress in ‘The Secret Life of Us’. Her entire life of acting has been filled with magnificent achievements by acting in several movies. In 2003 she acted as Ava in the film, ‘Floodhouse’, Nikki Kirby in the TV Movie ‘After the Deluge. In 2005 she acted in ‘Mary Bryant’ as Marleen while in 2006 she was part of the ‘Call Me Mum’, ‘Sexy Thing’ and ‘Real stories’.

Her latest activities in acting have been in ‘The Broken Shore’ a TV movie in ABC. She acted in the comedy move The Menkoff Method in 2014. In 2015 and a year later, she acted in “The Beautiful Lie” and the Rake, respectively.

Awards

Catherine’s biography cannot be complete without mentioning the achievements she has made. She was honored with the AFI award in 1990 which was her first award for the best Actress in the movie, ‘Weekend With Kate’. She won the same award in 2001 for the Best Actress in a guest role and 2010 for the Best Lead Actress the television drama ‘Tangle’. In 1998 she won the Logie Award for being the most outstanding actress in ‘Water Rats’. She also won the Astra Award for being the most outstanding performance actor in the television drama ‘Tangle’.

Personal relationship

Catherine is married to Jacek Koman an actor in ‘The Secret Life of US’. Catherine and Koman had been in long time relationship and they tied the knot and got two children Coco and Quincy. Her husband is an actor. They are happily married with no prospects of divorce in the offing.
