Charlotte Flair is an American professional wrestler, author and actress currently signed to the WWE and daughter of former professional wrestler Ric Flair. Ric Flair had a career that spanned nearly forty years and is regarded by many to be the greatest professional wrestler of all time. Charlotte Flair was born Ashley Elizabeth Fliehr on April 5, 1986, in Charlotte, North Carolina. Charlotte made her first appearance in professional wrestling at the age of thirteen when she appeared alongside her father in World Championship Wrestling. Charlotte attended Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina before transferring to North Carolina State University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in public relations. Charlotte was ranked number twenty nine out of fifty in the 2017 Sports Illustrated fifty fittest woman athletes of the year.
Charlotte Flair married Riki Johnson in May of 2010 but they were divorced by 2011. In the joint biography of Charlotte and her father, Second Nature: The Legacy of Ric Flair and the Rise of Charlotte, Charlotte revealed that the marriage failed due to multiple domestic assaults. Johnson filed a lawsuit against Charlotte, her father, and the WWE for what he termed the book’s defamatory statements. Charlotte was married a second time to English professional wrestler Thomas Latimer, whose ring name is Bram, in 2013. That marriage also ended as the couple was divorced in 2015.
