Early life
Christopher Paul was born to Charles Edward Paul and Robin Jones, in 1985. Chris Paul and his elder brother Jr. Charles Paul had been trained by their father in football and basketball, since childhood. Paul’s elder brother was an athlete in the past too. Both the brothers had spent their vacations at their grandfather’s service station. Paul considered Nathanial Jones as his best friend and also gives the credit to his grandfather for great lessons of life, he taught him.
He had helped Demon Deacons to achieve the position at the top when he joined University for college basketball. He was selected in NBA’s 2005 draft. Chris Paul has been considered as one of the highly paid athletes, all over the world. Apart from his basketball career, he has functioned as president of National Basketball Players Association from 2013, till date. He has been endorsing for brands like State Farm and Nike which fetches him, good income. He was baptized with different names for his achievements in basketball; the biggest tag was McDonald's All-American.

Career
After he was selected in 2005 draft, he was selected in 2007-08 for NBA All-Star Game; he played as opponent, his fans from New Orleans being on the opposite side. Before the start of this season, Paul renewed his deal with Hornets. He made a record of playing consecutive games with steal at 106. Paul has height of 6 feet and weighs 175 pounds. He primarily plays as point guard. Paul and two more drafts were sent to Los Angeles Lakers by Hornets in 2011 to play for Clippers. He was tagged as the third versatile player by Sports Illustrated and ESPN. He was considered to be the best point guard, till date.
Recently, Paul was asked by Clippers to sign a long term contract with them, to which Paul did not agree, at first. The reason for not agreeing was that he considered the 5 year long deal to be as a liability for him as 5 years down the line, he would be 37 years old.

Paul had got injured several times in his career, which affected his game. In retrospect, he had injured his right thumb, left knee cartilage torn and a hamstring strain in the 2012 season. He recently got his left thumb injured, which meant he would not be playing for 6 games. This was great loss to Hornets too; 2015–16 seasons was not favorable for them.
