Christina Ochoa is a Spanish actress, marine biologist, and writer who was born on January 25, 1985, in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. Ochoa is the grandniece of Nobel laureate Severo Ochoa. She was raised in Barcelona with her father who is a Spanish painter and graphic designer named Victor Ochoa. Her birth name is Cristina Ochoa Lopez and she spent her early years living between Barcelona, Madrid, and Miami. Ochoa attended Santa Isabel La Asunción in Madrid before going on to attend Las Palmas University in the Canary Islands where she studied Oceanographic Engineering. Ochoa then continued her education at James Cook University in Australia where she majored in Advanced Marine Biology. She took up acting as a hobby when she was a young girl and even starred in theatrical plays in Washington, D.C. at the Little Theatre of Alexandria.
Ochoa switched her career from marine biology to performance arts and moved to Madrid. She quickly found work in theatre and television on shows such as "I Hate My Teenage Daughter", "Modern Family", and the Spanish series "Le Que se Avecina". Ochoa has also appeared in the TNT television series "Animal Kingdom" since 2016. The following year, Ochoa was cast as the lead character in the NBC Universal and SyFy series "Blood Drive". She is dated American actor and model Derek Theler but the broke up and Ochoa is now dating British actor Ben Robson.
