Christi Paul was born in 1969 and raised in Bellevue, Ohio. She attended the University of Toledo, where she earned a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism. Paul began her broadcasting career at WDTV in Clarksburg, West Virginia.
Christi Paul joined CNN in 2003, where she became a weekday anchor for HLN and a weekend co-anchor for CNN’s "New Day." Prior to her tenure at CNN, she worked as a reporter and anchor in several cities including Phoenix, Boise, and Idaho Falls. While working in Idaho, she received recognition from the Idaho Press Club for reporting on the story of Julianne Prudhomme, a four-year-old girl who underwent a five-organ transplant. Her thoughtful coverage garnered critical acclaim and highlighted her journalistic integrity.
During her teenage years, Paul took part in various beauty pageants. She held titles such as Miss Mansfield and Miss Greater Cleveland and was the third runner-up in the Miss Ohio pageant in 1993. In addition to her work in journalism, she has performed the National Anthem for professional sports teams, including appearances for the Florida Marlins, Atlanta Braves, and during a National Hockey League game between the Atlanta Thrashers and the Colorado Avalanche.
Christi Paul served as the narrator for the SkyView Atlanta attraction, providing voiceover for the Ferris wheel experience in Centennial Olympic Park, which opened in 2014.
