Chyler Leigh was born on 10th April, 1982, Charlotte, North Caroline - USA. Her birth name was Chyler Leigh West. She was raised in Miami Beach and Virginia Beach as her parents use to live there and they ran a weight loss business. Her mother is Yvonne Norton and her father is Robert Potts. When she was eight years of age, her parent's business went bankrupt and after that her parents got separated when she was 12 years of age. After which she lived with her mother and brother and they moved to Miami, Florida, where her mother got married to her first husband again. After her parent's separation, she stayed away from her father for several years, but recently they started meeting again.
Education
She moved back to LA, California with her mother to pursue her career in acting. At the age of 16, she appeared in the California High School Proficiency exam and passed it.
Career Experience
She started her career as a model when she was in eighth grade. After which she was seen working in local commercials. She even got a chance to work on a teen show known as Hall pass. Her acting career started with the movie Kickboxing Academy in 1997, where she was cast opposite her brother, who was playing her love interest in that movie. In 2001, she started hosting local TV shows as well as several modelling events and programs.
She is an American actress and known for her performance in Not another Teen Movie as Janey Briggs and in Medical Drama Grey's Anatomy as Dr. Lexie Grey. In 2015, she was offered a role to play in Super girl as Alexandra Danvers on CBS channel. She left Grey's Anatomy after season 8.
She also worked in Marilyn Manson's music video featuring Tainted Love, a song which was recorded for the movie. In 2002, she was cast for two short TV series, namely Girls Club and That '80s Show. After which she got a role in the ABC series The Practice, but had to let it go at the end of the season due to budget cuts.
Personal Life
She has a charming personality, with a stylish haircut, sharp features and 5'6'' height. She is married to Nathan West for past 13 years and has three children. Her husband, himself is an actor and producer and popularly known for his performance in Bring it On, The Skulls II and Miracle. She met him, when she was 16 years old and he was 20 years old on the auditions of Saving Graces, which was not quite a success series. After which they dated each other for a while and then Leigh moved in with West, leaving her home behind. They both have troubled childhood and difficulties in family, which led them to abuse of drugs like cocaine and marijuana. They both get addicted to the drugs and later attended a Christian Church Service, which helped them to break this addiction. In 2002, they became sober again and got married in Alaska.
