Relationships within City High

During her time in City High, Ortiz was in a relationship with fellow group member Robbie Pardlo. Following their success, she revealed in interviews that her relationship with Pardlo was emotionally and physically abusive, eventually leading her to end the relationship.

Ortiz later married another member of the group, Ryan Toby. The couple had two sons together before eventually divorcing. Despite their separation, Ortiz has stated that she and Toby maintain a positive and cooperative relationship for the sake of their children.

Controversy Surrounding Past Relationship

Robbie Pardlo has described his relationship with Ortiz as a loving romance, claiming she ended it suddenly for fellow bandmate Ryan Toby. Initially reluctant to speak on the matter, Ortiz chose to clarify her experience after Pardlo’s public remarks. She described the relationship as abusive, stating that it started as a friendship before developing into her first romantic relationship. According to Ortiz, she discovered Pardlo was seeing other women and, when confronted, he would respond aggressively and get intoxicated.

She recounted incidents of verbal and emotional abuse, including public yelling and intimidation. In one instance, she said he threw a brush at her in anger, narrowly missing her and shattering a window. Additionally, she claimed he forced her to walk home after visiting his house, located two miles away, and that his mother unfairly blamed her for his behavior.
