Related Biography: Lise Weil

In 1989, Clint Black released his debut album, Killin’ Time, which became a major success. The lead single, “A Better Man,” reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, making Black the first new male country artist in 14 years to have a debut single reach the top spot. The album also spawned several other hit singles and earned him the Horizon Award for Best Newcomer at the Country Music Association Awards that same year.

Continued Success with Subsequent Albums

Black followed up with his second album, Put Yourself in My Shoes, in 1990. While it did not match the groundbreaking success of his debut, it still achieved commercial success and solidified his status in the country music industry. Shortly afterward, he toured with country music group Alabama, further increasing his fan base.

His third album, The Hard Way, was released in 1992 after delays due to management conflicts. Despite increased competition in the genre, the album performed well and was supported by a national tour starting in June of that year. In 1993, he released No Time to Kill, which received a mixed critical reception but still performed respectably in sales. His fifth album, One Emotion, came out in 1995 and enjoyed widespread acclaim, with several successful singles contributing to its strong commercial impact.

Acting Career and Personal Life

In addition to his music career, Clint Black also explored acting. He made his film debut in the 1994 movie Maverick, portraying a card-playing gambler. He later appeared in two television productions: the sitcom Wings and the holiday special Montana Christmas Skies.

Black is married to actress and singer Lisa Hartman. The couple met at one of Black’s New Year’s Eve concerts in Texas and later married. They have a daughter, Lily Pearl Black, who was born in 2001. Over the years, Black has maintained a successful career in the country music scene, contributing to a consistently strong net worth and income derived from both his music and entertainment ventures.
