Clint Black

Born on February 4, 1962 to father G.A. Black and mother Ann Black in Long Branch, New Jersey, United States of America, Clint Patrick Black spent most of his childhood days growing up with his three brothers in Katy situated in Texas. He was interested in music from a very young age and also learned to play harmonica by the age of 13. Wehn he was 14 years old, his parents realized that he has a very good voice and when he turned 15, he became a proficient player of guitar. At a very young age, he began writing his own songs and started performing with his brother’s band after dropping out of high school.

He then started working solo and performed at bars, clubs and coffee shops. He also worked as a bait cutter, fishing guide and construction worker for earning money.In the year 1987, he met Hayden Nicholas, a guitarist and a songwriter and they started working together. A tape of their songs together was submitted to Sammy Alfano, a promoter who made Bill Ham, the manager of ZZ top listen to it. Impressed with the songs, he decided to call Clint Black for a meeting. Bill helped Black to gain a contract with RCA, a very popular label at the time.

Black went on to release his first album Killin’ Time in the year 1989. The album was a big hit and its song A Better Man went on to secure the first position on the Billboard Hot Country songs. Along with this song, all the other singles of the albums were big hits too. This album helped Black win the Best Newcomer in Horizon Award in the year 1989. Black went on to release his second album in the year 1990 titled Put Yourself in My Shoes. Though the album was not as popular as his debut album, it still became a hit. Following this, he started his tour with Alabama.

His third album The Hard Way was released in the year 1992 and got delayed due to some conflict between Black and his manager. The competition increased at the time of the release of this album and for its promotion he went on a tour in June. He went on to release his fourth album , titled No Time To Kill and the album got mixed response from the audience. His next album One Emotion was released in the year 1995 and became an instant hit.

Along with his music career, he also began acting in movies. He made his film debut with the movie Maverick in the year 1994 where he played the role of a Gambler. He also appeared in two television shows, Wings and Montana Christmas Skies. He is married to actress Lisa Hartman. The couple met at the Black’s New Year’s Eve Concert in Texas.. Black and his wife are proud parents of a daughter named Lily Pearl Black who was born in the year 2001. According to his biography, he has a pretty high salary and net worth.
