Coco Crisp’s real name is Covelli Loyce Crisp, he is a baseball outfielder of Puerto Rican and American descents, and he plays as American professional for Major League baseball. He was born in the year in November 1, 1979 in Los Angeles. He attended Pierce High school, California.

Coco Crisp started to be called Coco from his sisters and a brother since he looked like the character who was on the cereal box called Cocoa Krispies. This nickname was not used for a long period but when he begun to play for AA baseball, he filled the form mentioning Coco as the nickname and the teammates decided to put it on the scoreboard in the game since they thought it was funny. After a week, he got traded to a new team but this nickname continued to be used and he became to be known as Coco Crisp since then. Afterwards, he started to use the name officially in 2013.

The start of Coco's career:

Coco Crisp played for St Louis Cardinals in the Minor League career and he was chosen at the seventh round for 1999 MLB draft. While in the minor league, he was playing with Cardinals Affiliates and he played in four leagues from 1999 until 2001. He started the 2002 season by joining New Haven Ravens. Afterwards, he was doubling as Eastern League affiliate for Cardinals. Coco Crisp joined Cleveland Indians as a trade for their Chuck Finley.

Major league career:

Crisp began his major league career in Cleveland Way back in 2002. From there, he moved on to the Red Sox, made a stop at the Royals then he moved to Oakland, he has been there since 2010.

Coco Crisp started to play for Cleveland Indians in the center field in 2002. He was replacing Matt Lawton who suffered injury. In the few seasons that followed, Crisp was able to establish the reputation when he came to be known as the best fielder and also a speedy baserunner. Even after such success, he had to fight to get the spot every spring. He started to play at the left field when there was an emergency and he had to replace Grady Sizemore who is an outfielder. In the final two seasons with the Indians, he showed his talent in offensive capacity.

Coco Crisp is married and his wife is called Maria Crisp. However, more information about her is not available. Crisp who stands at 5 feet and 10 inches, 185 LB has a net worth of 24$ million. He is known for his range in center field, but his weakness is his arms; since he had a lot of shoulder surgeries which resulted in awful throwing if he did. He was an outfielder for the Indians since he arrived from Oakland.
