Craig Sager who is famous with his nick name “Mr. Fancy suit”, “Totino boy” and “Sagervision” was an American national. He was born on 29 June 1949 in Batavia. Sager was graduated from Northwestern University in Speech. He was a good player of football and basketball in school life. He was mascot in his school years.

Career

Sager, from the time of education chooses his career line as a reporter. Sager started his career as sideline reporter in 1972. He did his first reporting for WWSB-channel 40. In 1981, Sager gave his joining to CNN after his first live coverage of baseball playoff in 1980. He served as co-anchor at CNN show “sports tonight”. Sager served as reporter for NBA and TNT but he also worked for TBA and CNN. He covered many games of CNN. FIFA World Cup in 1990 and Good will games are some of them. Sager also covered Curling and Nordic Skiing for TNT. He also did 17th season of NBA “Thursday night”. He covered many sports such as football, golf, tennis and amateur games. He also covered 1986, 1990, and 1998 “Good will games”. Sager worked for different networks. After served for TNT, he worked and covered many sports for NBC. National League Championship series, Olympics 2000 which was held in Sydney, he gave coverage of “Notre Dame Football”. Sager, unfortunately unable to covered 2014 NBA Playoff. He in 2014 diagnosed acute leukemia. In late 2015 Sager returned to field for his recurring position.

Awards and achievements

In 1988 Sager honored with ACE award as best sport anchor and he nominated for Emmy award for outstanding sports person.

Sager in his 46 years of service did lots of hard work in his career. He covered many important sports. He also interviewed many sports personalities, coaches and empires. He was famous for his dressing sense. At the age of 64 he was diagnosed Carcinoma and because of his serious illness he was unable to cover important events of sports in 2014.
