Calvin Cylk Cozart was born on February 1, 1957 in Knoxville, Tennessee. From a young age, he was a natural athlete. During his high school days, he played on the basketball and football teams. This streak of athletic success led to several scholarship offers. He chose to join King College in Bristol, Tennessee, where he did his major in Child Psychology.

Despite the fact that he desired an NBA career, this was not meant to be his destiny. A foot injury during his participation in the NBA Summer Pro League turned his career compass in a different direction. He still was able to play for the Hollywood Knights celebrity basketball team and has had some roles to show his skills on the court as an actor.

Cylk Cozart's acting career started in 1983, when he made appearances in the movies “Blue Skies Again” and “Adrift”. Since then, TV series and films started to fill up his resume. Some of his most known movies include “Conspiracy Theory”, “Ned and Stacey” and “A Family Divided”.

He has an equally prolific career being the president of his own production company called Planet, and as co-chairman of other production unit named P.O.V. Planet created and produced the All-Star Celebrity Recording and Video "Spirit of Life" for the 2000 Paralympic Games in Sydney, Australia, which has been awarded in various festivals. In 2013, Cylk became the CEO, Co-Chairman, and Co-Founder of Cure4Hunger.org which has the mission to cure hunger on a global scale integrating technology into a sustainable solution. The investigation has shown amazing results. They claim to feed 58,000 people with only 1 acre of Cure4Hunger Food and Water Domes.

Los Angeles Mayor Richard Riordan recognized his labor and awarded him with a Certificate of Appreciation from this city.
