Cynthia was born to Nancy and Bruce in Lake Orion, Michigan. She has a sibling whose name is Steven. Cynthia’s biography does not contain much information regarding her family, however, some of the information about her early days is available. After receiving her early education, she got enrolled in the Macomb Community College. Upon graduating from the college, she went to join Boston University.

She wanted to pursue her dream to become an actress so she got into a training program to become a professional actress at Boston University. She majored in theatre studies and graduated from Boston University with the bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts.

As far as the marital life of Cynthia is concerned, she is a happily married woman. She got married to Curtis Gilliland in 1996. The happy couple welcomed their twin daughters, five years after the marriage in the year 2001. She is in a happy and committed relationship with her husband. She has never gone through a divorce.

Career

After her graduation, Cynthia started to build her career in the entertainment industry. She got the role in a soap opera named “Guiding Light”. She appeared on the soap opera for 4 years and played the role of a nurse from 1994 t0 1998. Her role as a nurse was appreciated and she got a great recognition because of that. Later, she appeared on the show named “Titus” for 2 years till 2002 and played a comedic role. During these years she got different roles in various TV shows and movies.

For 2 years till 2006, she starred in the TV series “Lost” where she played the role of one of the survivors of a plane crash. With the same role, she reappeared on the show again in 2008 and 2010 in different flashback episodes. After completing her part for the TV show “Lost” in 2006, she continued her journey and became the part of different TV series. She played the role of the ex-wife of a character named Dr. Wilson in the TV Series “House”.

She appeared in 7 episodes in this TV medical show “House”. She has also guest starred on “Grey’s Anatomy”. She became the part of another soap opera “The Young and the Restless” in 2013. She ended her journey with this soap opera in 2014. Later that year she got the part in a TV series named “Finding Carter”. Her net worth is yet to be revealed. She has won different awards for her performance. She won an Emmy Award for her performance in “Guiding Light”. She also won a Screen Actors Guild Award.
