Dan Harris was born in 1971 and American by birth. He came from highly educated family background and he is really fortunate to have parents like them.  His father, Jay R. Harris received gold medal in 2007 for his work in radiation oncology. His mother, Nancy Lee Harris, is a pathologist and his brother is a venture capitalist.

He got married to Dr. Bianca Harris in 2009 and the couple is living happily in New York. His wife is Pulmonologist by profession and their relation is good so far. They love pets and they have three cats. Dan Harris loves to capture photos and he clicks everything, starting from him breakfast to his pets.

Career Journey

He completed his education from Colby College, Waterville. During his college days, he wanted to become a journalist and his parents supported him. After completing his education, he started working as a news anchor for WLBZ. He joined in ABC news network in 2000 and he achieved the top journalist position in no time.

He was the new anchor for World News Sunday for six years (2006-11). His Nightline show is quite popular and he anchors the ABC World News Tonight on weekends. He had covered several disasters like Hurricane Katrina, Haiti earthquake etc. in his journalism career. He had also covered mass massacre in Newtown, Connecticut and terrorist attacks in several other places. His noted works also includes 2013 Pope Election in Vatican. He is occasionally seen in CBN’s The 700 Club program.

Overcoming Drug Addiction

After a tragic incident in GMA show in 2004, he admitted that he was addicted to drugs some years back. Now, he is physically fit and mentally sound without any bad habits. He regularly practices meditation which not only keeps him healthy but also gives relief from professional stress. He received several honors but the Emmy Award he received in 2009 was so special. He also received honorary doctorate from the college he studied.
