Danielle Brooks was born on September 17, 1989 in North Augusta, South Carolina. She is from a Christian family. Her father is a deacon and her mom is a pastor. She started acting at 6 years old in a nativity play put on by her congregation. Danielle got her high school education from South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities.
